Increasing Website Traffic with Twitter
Whether or not you’re convinced on using social media for business or not, its impossible to ignore the numbers and according to Google Analytics it’s a large source of traffic for us with about a quarter of website traffic coming from Twitter alone.
We’ve found Twitter useful in publicising news, views on the industry and other random information such as humorous observations. A balance of information can keep users intrigued and they will then follow you to be kept up to date of any developments. In addition Twitter is a great way to raise both brand awareness and improve SEO by sending traffic to your website with links.
So where do you start with Twitter? Your profile should entice would be followers, giving a snapshot of who you and your company are, what you’re about giving a reflection of the company’s and / or your personality. If you’re a very formal corporate company, don’t make any jokes… If you’re a comedian, followers will be expecting them!
Next, you need to work on building the all important follower list. If you increase the number of followers, you increase your audience – the number of people that will see your tweets. The higher the chance of it being seen (and read) the greater the chance of it being passed on to your followers followers (yes I did mean to say that twice!) via retweets.
